Effective Parenting for Teens

  • Be Heard
  • Will you know?
  • Rules & Boundaries
  • Expected Bumps

*It Does Make a Difference.
*Parenting Style Matters

We have long known that teens’ likelihood of smoking, drinking, or delinquency is closely linked to their parents’ approach to parenting— your “parenting style.”

Now, we have research that proves this also applies to teen driving behaviors - and the results are dramatic.

Research out of The Center for Injury Research and Prevention shows parenting style makes a big difference when it comes to your teen’s driving safety. “Parenting style” describes the balance between warmth or support and control or rules. Some styles are heavy on control whereas others offer lots of warmth but few boundaries.
